This notice is to inform you of recent developments involving Land Conservancy of Elkins Park, Inc., the PA non-profit that owns The Elkins Estate.
Due to a dispute with our lender and the actions of the Dominican Congregation of St. Catherine de Ricci, on Monday, November 1, 2010 Land Conservancy filed for Chapter 11 Reorganization Bankruptcy Protection. Land Conservancy has done this not only to protect The Elkins Estate, its valued clients, and industry partners, but also the preservation and conservation efforts and the public interest of the community. Under Chapter 11, we are able to conduct business.
Currently, we will hold a date for those who choose The Elkins Estate for their wedding, special event or retreat with a fully refundable deposit of $300.00, which will be held in a segregated escrow account. Our industry partners are aware of the situation. We are making every effort to negotiate a speedy and amicable resolution to this dispute. It is our sincerest hope that we will have this matter resolved soon. Please don’t hesitate to contact us in the meantime with any questions regarding this matter.
Respectfully,
David Dobson President Land Conservancy of Elkins Park, Inc.
